The sand goes down in June. By the first week of July, the beach has already learned its own routine again. Monday movies. Wednesday fireworks at 9:30. A country act at the Seashell on Thursday. A tribute band or a name headliner filling the Casino Ballroom on Friday or Saturday. If you live in Hampton, you don't need a listicle telling you the Boulevard is fun in the summer. You need to know what's on the calendar this month, and which nights are worth the walk down Ocean Boulevard versus which ones you skip because the parking will be brutal.
There is also a reason to treat this summer with a little more attention than usual. The Casino Ballroom is running its 99th season. What comes next is a very different building.
The Week Has a Shape
Hampton Beach programs its summer on a weekly clock, and once you learn it, planning a night out gets easier.
- Monday: Movies on the sand for families.
- Wednesday: Fireworks at 9:30 PM at the top of B and C Streets, weather permitting, with a Friday rain date.
- Thursday: Country Night at the Seashell Stage. Free line dance lessons at 6 PM with Michelle Jackson-White of Nashville Line Dance, then a regional country band at 7.
- Nightly: Free shows at the Seashell Stage from 7 to 9:30 PM.
- Biweekly: Yoga on the Beach.
Throughout the peak summer season, Hampton Beach hosts Movie Night Mondays right on the sand, weekly Wednesday night fireworks at 9:30 PM, and free nightly concerts at the Sea Shell Stage. The Wednesday fireworks calendar for July 2026 is July 1, July 4 (the special Independence Day shoot), July 8, July 15, July 22, and July 29. If you can, walk. The B Street lots empty slowly after 9:30, and residents who live north of the strip know that the fastest exit is on foot.
What's Actually on This Month at the Seashell
Two dates on the Seashell calendar are worth clearing your schedule for.
The first is Country Music Fest, July 7–9. It's free, it's three nights, and it lands on the Seashell Stage rather than inside a ticketed venue. Enjoy free country line dance lessons with Michelle Jackson-White's Nashville Line Dance, followed by live performances from regional and national country artists. The festival wraps up with a nationally touring headliner Niko Moon taking the stage on the final night. Bring folding chairs early on the Niko Moon night. The sand fills in fast.
The second is the Miss Hampton Beach Pageant on July 26, the 80th edition of the pageant. It's a genuinely local piece of the summer that visitors mostly ignore, which is exactly why residents should show up.
If you're the kind of person who prefers a quieter Seashell night, the Thursday Country Night format is the sleeper pick of the week. Line dance lessons happen whether or not you dance. Most people don't. They watch, they eat something from the Boulevard, and they go home before the fireworks crowd starts to arrive on Wednesday-adjacent evenings.

A few reads on this lineup.
The Elovaters are a Massachusetts-based reggae-rock band with a loyal regional following, and the two-night booking is the tell. Regional acts get one night. Bands that reliably sell out get two. Expect a crowd that skews younger than the ballroom's classic-rock nights.
Kip Moore on July 23 is the country event of the month inside the venue itself. He is a multi-platinum country artist with more than 1 billion streams and 2.5 million monthly listeners. Lauren Alaina three nights later gives country fans a second bite in the same week.
The tribute-band bookings are worth taking seriously. Freddy Schaake, the venue's marketing director, has said audiences describe the Dave Matthews Tribute Band as close-your-eyes indistinguishable from the real thing. Tribute nights tend to be the easiest tickets and the friendliest crowds if you're bringing someone who has never been inside the ballroom before.
Parking, since it comes up every summer: the ballroom's own lot sits off D Street with prices ranging from $5 to $10. On a Wednesday-fireworks-plus-Ballroom-show night, arrive by 7:30 or plan on street parking north of Winnacunnet.
Why the 99th Summer Matters
Here is the piece of context most Hampton residents haven't fully absorbed yet.
The Casino Ballroom, the building that has anchored the Boulevard since 1927, is on a countdown. The venue is running its 99th season ahead of a multi-million dollar redevelopment. Hampton's planning board approved the project in November, and developers now say demolition will begin after the 2027 summer season. Marketing director Andrew Herrick has said the 100th year will still happen. The estimated $600 million project will include a 3,500-seat event and music venue larger than the current 2,200-capacity ballroom, a boutique hotel, luxury condominiums, retail and restaurant space, a charitable gaming casino, and a parking garage. Construction is expected to take about three years.
Read that carefully. This summer and next summer are the last two seasons the current ballroom will host shows. The building that hosted Louis Armstrong, Janis Joplin, and The Doors, and that also saw Jimi Hendrix, Duke Ellington, Led Zeppelin, and Ray Charles on its stage, has a defined ending. A larger, glossier version is coming. It won't be the same room.
If you have been meaning to see a show there and haven't, this is not the summer to keep putting it off.
Where to Eat Before a Show
The Boulevard has plenty of options, but a handful are worth naming.
Sea Ketch sits four stories tall on the beach and reopened for its 2026 season on March 6. It's a walk-in restaurant, not a reservation restaurant, which is a useful thing to remember on a Casino Ballroom night. The menu covers clam chowder, lobster rolls, fried seafood baskets, and surf and turf, and the two heated decks and bar areas often have local musicians performing.
Breakers Restaurant & Bar at the Ashworth by the Sea is the sit-down oceanfront option when you want a slower dinner before a 7 PM Elovaters show. It's a short walk to the ballroom.
Tinos brings a different register. The kitchen focuses on Mediterranean flavors with house-made pasta, wood-grilled steaks, and locally sourced seafood, and the room is entirely seed oil free, frying only in beef tallow and olive oil. The bar features handcrafted cocktails, an expertly chosen wine list, and local brews.
The Galley Hatch has been on the seacoast since 1970 and seats over 400. It's the right pick when someone in your group wants something specific and someone else has no idea what they want.
For the late night after a show, Wally's Pub covers the local-band and heavier-music side of the Boulevard, and The Goat runs a steady rotation of karaoke, open mic, and acoustic sets.
Looking Past July
Two dates worth writing down now while the calendar is still open.
The Hampton Beach Seafood Festival on September 11–13. It has been rated among the top 100 events in North America, and features over 50 seacoast restaurants, sidewalk sales, chef demonstrations, the Harvard Pilgrim 5K Road Race, the Lil' Lobster Fun Run, and the Lobster Roll Eating Contest.
The Fire and LED Light Show on September 19, which closes the beach season with a full-on visual production on the sand.
Both events sit after the school year restarts, which is why locals often have an easier time enjoying them than August visitors do.
A Note for Neighbors
Summer here has always had a rhythm, but this one has an expiration date attached to it. The Seashell will still be the Seashell in 2028. The ballroom in its current form will not. That's the case for treating this July as something other than routine.
