For years, Dover's summer calendar was scattered across the city: farmers market on one side of downtown, headliner concerts on the other, restaurants pulling their own crowds up and down Central. In 2026 that changed almost by accident. Because of ongoing construction at Nebi Park, the market set up shop at Lower Henry Law Park beginning Wednesday, June 3. Topolino opened at 9 River Street on March 31, 2026. And the long-planned Waterfront District behind Henry Law Park kept filling in around them.
The result is a summer where the same six-acre wedge of riverfront now anchors midweek shopping, Friday concerts, weekend cider, and a new dinner destination. You do not have to move the car once.
Wednesday, 3:30 at Lower Henry Law
The market has always been a good market. What is different this year is the walk to it.
The market runs every Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with metered parking near the indoor pool, along Payne Street, and on Henry Law Avenue. The temporary location sits right along the waterfront, about a five-minute walk from Nebi, which puts the produce tables essentially under the same trees that will hold the Friday concert crowd two nights later.
A few things to know if you have been going for years and are still calibrating to the new spot:
- The bell still opens and closes each market. Listen for it near the info booth.
- Leashed dogs are welcome, and the shade is better than at Nebi in July.

- Live music runs during the market itself, so you can effectively double-dip on the Friday concert experience if you time your grocery run right.

The Cochecho Arts Festival is old enough now that "local tradition" undersells it. The Friday Night Headliner Concerts are the signature series of the festival, with average crowds ranging over 500 people per night. On a warm night with a headliner you actually want to see, the whole park sounds like one long conversation with music underneath it.

Saturday, Deck-Side at North Country
Saturday nights have their own answer, and it is a short walk from the pavilion. North Country Hard Cider hosts live music on the deck every Saturday throughout the summer, a free, all-ages series that runs from 6 to 8 p.m. with local music, cider, and good company.
Two things make this beat different from Friday's. It is smaller, which means you can actually hear a conversation between songs. And it is cider, not beer, which changes the crowd in a way that is hard to describe until you have been. If Friday at Henry Law is the whole neighborhood turning out, Saturday at North Country is the block.
For an earlier start, Two Bees Patisserie hosts Happy Hours every Friday and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. with a riverside view and seasonal outdoor patio. Stack a Two Bees hour with a walk along the Cocheco and you have already earned dinner.
Weeknights: The New Room at 9 River Street
The biggest addition to the summer map is not a festival but a restaurant, and it changes what a random Tuesday looks like.
Chef Evan Hennessey, whose restaurant Stages has earned national recognition, opened Topolino as a Mediterranean-inspired concept designed to bring people together, built to be a community-focused, all-day restaurant where families, couples, and friends can hang out and enjoy really good food without it feeling overly formal. The address matters here: Topolino is at 9 River Street in Dover, which is to say it sits inside the same riverfront corridor that holds the market on Wednesday and the concert on Friday.
That is the point. For the last decade, Dover residents who wanted a chef-driven meal drove to Portsmouth. Topolino is a working-week answer, and it is on the way home from the pavilion.
The broader context around it is worth understanding, because it explains why more of these rooms are coming. The neighborhood plan around the Waterfront District, behind Henry Law Park, calls for a brand new city park, 26,000 square feet of commercial space, and 418 residential units. Not all of that is here yet. Enough of it is, this summer, that the walk from the market to a table has finally gotten short.
One More Beat for the Kids
If your Wednesday has a stroller attached to it, the Children's Museum of New Hampshire is a block off the market and worth folding into the loop. A Luckey Climber is being installed at the museum in the fall of 2026, which will change the ground floor considerably. Between now and then, the regular exhibits are running normally, and the museum's outdoor bench areas make a reasonable rest stop between produce and concert.
Cochecho Arts Festival also programs a Tuesday morning children's concert series through the summer at the same pavilion, which is worth mentioning because it means the pavilion is not just a Friday thing.

The move-worthy insight for anyone who lives here is not that Dover has events. It is that the events have consolidated. The Cochecho corridor from the pavilion to 9 River Street to the cider deck now functions as a single walkable summer district, in a way it did not two summers ago.
For residents, that means less driving, easier plans with out-of-town friends, and a downtown that finally rewards the ten-minute walk you probably were not taking. The Waterfront District will keep filling in around it. The market may or may not return to Nebi. Topolino is the first of what is likely to be several rooms opening within that same six-acre wedge.
